It's Stefan's turn

Stefan has wanted to take a trip to Will Rogers Historic State Park for a couple of weeks. I get excited every time he makes a wish and suggests a trip. Most of the time in our relationship, I’m the one who plans our trips or vacations. Then when Stefan takes over, I have no expectations. Not for the reason that he’s not capable of planning anything, I know he can. It’s more that I have very high expectations for the things I plan, but I don’t have the same standard for other people. Good for my husband and friends, sometimes a bit exhausting and annoying for me 😉

Yesterday was Stefans turn, and he suggested we finally go to Will Rogers Historic State Park to enjoy nature. So that’s what we did. It was a bit gloomy and chilly at first, but after 20 minutes the sun came through and we had about two hours on a trail with a beautiful view. It was so quiet and peaceful, it’s still hard to believe we’re in Los Angeles.

Matthew’s Garden Café

After we returned to the trailhead, Stefan suggested we go to a small village near the park for coffee. Sure, I was in, as usual without any expectations. 10 minutes later we were sitting in such an enchanted beautiful garden cafe. I was so overwhelmed and felt a bit like I was in a fairy tale. There were plants everywhere and I didn’t know where to look first. The people who worked there were so friendly and kind to us that they even planned to close the cafe in 40 minutes. What a magical experience.

After we finished our late lunch, we strolled through these quaint streets with little stores. When I realized where we were. Palisades Village. Sure, Stefan had no idea and never heard of this place, but of course I did 😀 I use every free second to look for new places in Los Angeles that I like to discover.

Palisades Village

Palisades Village isn’t the first place I’ve felt like I was in Disneyland. There’s subtle music playing in the background, everything is clean and shiny, and you can borrow blankets to sit on the grass for free! Have you guys seen anything like this before?

After I was able to get away from this place, we took a walk to the beach and passed beautiful houses. I’m still amazed at how diverse Los Angeles can be. This huge city is so full of beautiful nature, and I still can’t believe it when I see the ocean on the horizon.

I’m determined to let Stefan do the planning more often in the future;)
